Our Story

Modern Caveman started with two friends who had the same problem: they loved being outside, but their skin couldn’t keep up.

Cameron Holt is from Park City, Utah, where skiing, mountain biking, and filmmaking shaped his love for the outdoors. Jaidon Matthews is from Olympia, Washington, where he juggled surfing, skiing, and baseball — which eventually led him to playing Division 1 ball.

The two met at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Together, they studied super hard. …Sorta. Most of their days were spent surfing, hiking, and filming around Oʻahu. They shared a passion for adventure and the same issue: their skin was wrecked after long days in the jungle, sun, and sweat.

Like most college guys, they grabbed whatever random skin products they could find, hoping it would work. Instead, they ended up with acne, dryness, and red skin — not to mention fake promises and even more rejection from girls. So they decided to try something different. After experimenting with natural remedies, they found the holy grail…

That’s how Modern Caveman was born — Cam and Jaido wanted to provide skincare that’s simple, natural, affordable, and built to keep up with an active life outdoors.
